SOCIAL POEM: "SPOTLESS POLITICIAN" BY AJAKAYE STRIDA
I am a spotless politician,
I do not write manifesto,
I act it with willingness so sharp
as the busy knifes of abattoirs.
Do you know, who I am?
I am a spotless politician,
my policies whip even an undisciplined baby,
I smile at every face,
my palms are generous as the cloud shielding humans,
yet...I am unpredictable as weather.
I am a spotless politician,
look into my eyes, into yours I look,
we are leaders, the money belongs to the masses,
no...we ain't spending it on luxuries!
Do you know, who I am?
I am a spotless politician,
stop thinking I would fight as a bull for you,
I would speak and deliberate with the authorities for you.
To touch lives as sun does to the dawn is my birthright,
give me a minute in your Place, a Palace it shall become.
I am spotless politician,
digging out my brain to offer the world betterment,
to receive always is a curse,
to give is a graced call,
Do you know who I am?
I am a spotless politician,
the texture of my vision for the society
is mad at corruption and friendly to dignity.
in discipline, I stand with my promises,
keep your office if you want to sell to me.

The poet persona stands out as a disciplined politician who seems to be against the negativities of politics. The bard has a sincere love for the masses. The voice is strictly unwilling to receive power that would be given in illegal means.
