RED DEVILS IN SHAMBLES: A SEASON OF DISAPPOINTMENT- BY ABIODUN MOSHOOD

Manchester United's failure to win the Europa League title has dealt a crushing blow to the team, condemning them to a season without European football. This disappointment is compounded by their dismal Premier League performance, finishing below 14th place with only 10 wins, 9 draws, and 18 losses – their worst record in the modern era.

The financial implications are significant, with an estimated loss of £100 million, including £60 million in prize money and £10 million in matchday revenue. This loss also jeopardizes commercial deals and sponsorship opportunities.

Despite their rich history of achievements, including 20 Premier League titles and 3 UEFA Champions League titles, Manchester United has struggled this season. Manager Ruben Amorim, who has enjoyed success at Sporting CP, has faced challenges in England, particularly with the team's defensive record and lack of confidence.

The team's goal-scoring issues have also been a major concern, with 14 league games without a goal. To bounce back, the players must address their confidence and fighting spirit. A tactical shift away from counter-attacking football, which has led to conceding more goals and scoring fewer, is also necessary.

Ultimately, the problem lies not with the manager but with the players themselves. By setting targets and believing in themselves, Manchester United can regain their former glory.
