KEEP WRITING!_ BY SUMAILA UMAISHA
It is a popular belief that every writer writes the kind of story he loves to read. This is not entirely true, especially for beginners. If every writer could successfully write what he loves to read, literature would have been a landscape of masterpieces.
In reality, a writer merely aspires to write what he loves to read. The finished work often lands somewhere between that lofty ambition and the hard ground of reality. Blinded by ego, however, he may not even realise he has missed the mark. He may praise his work to the skies - until a critic punctures that confidence with a few incisive remarks.
Yet, through continuous practice, the gap between aspiration and achievement can gradually narrow. For some, this alignment comes quickly; for others, it takes a lifetime of dedication.
The important thing is to keep writing, keep learning, and keep growing.
Let's keep at it!
No dulling!
