The most painful thing in life is not hunger, not stress, not even betrayal…
It is bringing someone into your home - giving them love, comfort, secrets, protection - only for them to treat you like the enemy in your own house.
You try your best to make them family…
You treat them like a sibling…
You spend your hard-earned money just to make them happy…
Yet they behave as if you are maltreating them.
They act in ways that make outsiders look at you like the bad person - when deep down, they are the ones turning your kindness into pain.
They reject your food like poison.
They soak garri with pride.
They ignore you when you ask what is wrong.
They carry face for you in your own house.
And still, they walk with the very people who hate you the most… people who can go any length just to hurt you - yet they don’t care.
And you begin to ask yourself:
“Is it a crime to be too good?”
“Is my offense trying to make someone comfortable?”
“Why do some people repay kindness with wicked attitude?”
Hmmmm…
Life will show you that not everyone you help deserves a seat at your table.
Not every stranger deserves to become family.
Not every heart appreciates love.
But listen to this:...
Never allow someone ungratefulness kill the goodness in you.
Your kindness is not the problem.
They are.
Your heart is not weak - it is beautiful.
Your generosity is not foolish - it is rare...
