PLAINT: "THE OTHER SIDE OF PARADISE" BY MAURICE N CHIADZWA

Girl met boy, and thought he was the one
Boy met girl and thought of just having fun

I admit I was only trying to play the hard ball
When I lied that it felt good to let you go

If life imitates chess where we sacrifice it all for a win
Then I guess I had no idea on the value of my queen

I did win the battles against her, but lost her after the war
I went on bragging about it, but pride always comes before the fall

I learnt the hard way to never lay waste where you eat
That's probably why dining tables come don`t come with toilet seats

My head is now a shell loaded with nothing but blissful memories
Backed up with a little bit of imagination of unlived glories

My heart still bleeds out a flood of emotions
If poured out, my love for you would fill the ocean

I still walk around with my love life dripping in scars
All because I chose to ignore that which was written in stars

If it`s true that we are defined by choices, then I`m defined by you;
My long-gone withered rose, now we are just roses in blue

Boy met girl and thought of just having fun
Girl met boy, and thought he was the one
