TASFUED UNVEILS WEEK-LONG VALEDICTORY PROGRAMME IN HONOUR OF OUTGOING VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROF. OLUWOLE BANJO

The Management of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has released a detailed programme of activities to mark the end of tenure of its 5th Substantive and 2nd  indigenous Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwole Sikiru Banjo FWISON, FASN, FAIMP, dfisn, FIELP  whose five-year transformative leadership comes to a close this October.

According to the schedule, the five-day valedictory celebration will commence on Tuesday, 21st October, 2025, with a Legacy Documentation visit to the Tai Solarin Federal University of Education Secondary School, Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

 The following day, Wednesday, 22nd October , will feature a Special Congregation in honour of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, where citations, resolutions, and plaques will be presented at the TETFund 2012 Hall, Ijagun Main Campus between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The event continues on Monday, 27th October , with a focus on Milestone Achievements.

 Highlights include a Valedictory Press Conference/Media Parley (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon)  Exhibition and Photo Display of Prof. Banjo’s achievements at the Senate Building. 

This will be followed by the unveiling of the Professor Oluwole Banjo Lifetime Legacy Projects, which include tree planting and scholarship endowments, at the University Compound from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The celebration will climax  on Wednesday, 29th October , with a Book Presentation and Photo Exhibition (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) at the TETFund 2012 Hall, and a Farewell Dinner/ Gala Night from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., featuring tributes, cultural performances, goodwill messages, and awards.

 Other notable activities include the unveiling of the Tai Solarin Statue, a gift from the foremost Art Collector, Prince (Dr.) Yemisi Shyllon and the commissioning of the Staff Club donated by our distinguished Honourary Awardee, the CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Resorts, Engr. (Dr.) Dotun Sanusi on Thursday, 30th October.

A Special Jumat Service will be held at the University Community Mosque on Friday,31st October , by 2:00 p.m. 

The programme will be rounded off with an Interdenominational Christian Prayer at the University Chapel on Sunday, 2nd November, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The valedictory activities, according to the Planning Committee, are designed to celebrate Professor Banjo’s exceptional leadership, visionary reforms, and enduring contributions to the growth and global recognition of TASFUED as Nigeria’s Premier and Preferred University of Education in Nigeria.
