AFOLABI TAIWO RESPONDS TO AJAKAYE AND JUDAISKY'S DUET ON "YOU WANT TO MARRY ME (FRIENDSHIP)"

What an admirable and profound poem.

The piece moves me to pen my own poem for your concern.

Friendship

Love is a proud youth
With a booming mellifluous voice amongst many admirers,
Love ne'er is greater than friendship,
The dew of affection last but untill setting Sun.

At a glance,
There arise a fair and beautiful blooming red rose,
And the proclivity  is wanting to pluck,
While the stalk hide thorns that pricked for blood.

A solitary kindred rumbles from the core of wisdom,
Whispering for the umpteen time,
That lovers tread with trepidation,
Many conquerors strength lay under the mounds
Of the promised pretty princesses.

But for true friendship is found,
In the eyes of an infant,
It is the warm laughter in the puré spring that sprang in the noonday,
And a especial heart to heart hug of affection,
In the aftermaths of a long good night.
