DESPITE BEING A BILLIONAIRE, OTEDOLA PROMOTES HIS BOOK, MAKING IT BIG- BY SAKEENAH WRITES
Everywhere I turn, Instagram, Google, even LinkedIn, he is promoting it, or someone is indirectly preaching the gospel of his book.
Dangote, a billionaire, the owner of one of Africa’s biggest oil refineries, with everything he has, still promotes his company, carries it on his head, attends conferences, does interviews, and shows up like a hungry startup founder.
Tony Elumelu, with all his investments and impact, still promotes the Tony Elumelu Foundation at every opportunity.
Ibukun Awosika, despite being an established name, still talks about her books, her message, and her brand. At events, summits, she is embodying the values of everything she has built.
Oprah Winfrey, with all her fame and wealth, still markets her shows, books, and network.
Elon Musk, one of the richest men alive, still tweets about Tesla, X, and SpaceX like a startup founder fighting for visibility.
Dr. Olumide Emmanuel carries CommonSenseNation like it’s oxygen.

You say you don’t want to disturb people, yet you scroll past those disturbing others with value and making money.
You post today, disappear tomorrow, then wonder why nobody takes your brand seriously.
You talk about it this week, go mute next week, and expect people to remember your offer.
You create one post, but act like you have done the work of a whole marketing team.
You say, “I want my work to speak for me,” but you have not given your work any platform or microphone.

The dream, the vision, and the need to serve our audience is bigger than our fears. You must choose consistency over convenience. You must choose confidence over shyness.
This week alone, I can't count how many times I have publicised the graphics for my upcoming physical event, or pitched it physically to strangers. Is it easy? NO! But, I have to do it.

If these business giants, who have achieved what many only dream of, are still aggressively promoting and talking about their businesses, who are you to be quiet?
Your fear won’t feed you.
Your silence won’t grow you.
Your comfort zone won’t make you known.
So, post that product.
Talk about that service.
Promote that brand like your life depends on it, because in many ways, it does.
People can only support what they see.
And if you don’t show up for your business, who will?

Confidence says, “My product is worth your money.” Exaggeration says, “It will change your life in 3 days,” when you know it won’t.
Anything you are not confident in, please don't hype it. If your product is 50% ready, promote the 50% it is, not the 100% you wish it was.
Integrity is key in everything, and it is one of the core foundations of a successful business. If you are known as the person who lies or over-promises, your business will eventually fail, no matter how much you shout about it.
