POETRY OF CONSCIOUSNESS: "THE BAD EGGS" BY ABIODUN MOSHOOD

Bad eggs that crack and spoil the nest.
Looters of public funds, who bring unrest.
He is trapped in a web, of corruption’s might.
But still, he fights, through day and night.

Don’t blame the leader, spare the stone,
For he is surrounded by those who don’t share his tone.
The fault lies with those who surround his throne.
Not with the leader, who is trying to bring it home.

So don’t blame the leader, don’t you see?
He is doing his best in a system that is not free.
To bring hope, to bring peace.
To a nation worn by endless segregation case.

People we pray not to be with,
They whisper lies; they sow deceit.
Do they make transactions without receipt?
And no one could question their bullshit.

He strives with heart and soul
To fix the cracks and make the system a whole.
Let us pray and support our own
For the country is our home.
