"SOON, GOD WILL TOWEL MY TEARS AWAY" BY SULAIMON KHALID
Soon, the storm will pass,
and my morning light,
will shine bright and bright.
The scars of yesterday
that still last,
will get healed,
and I will be sound again.
The pain that haunts,
and my heart that aches,
will soon be a story
for yesterday.
Tears that fall like rain,
will cease to flow
and show.
Soon, God will towel my tears away.
Soon, the weight of my grief
will leave,
and I will dance amapiano,
without hearing any beats.
Soon, joy will flow
in my vein,
like blood,
and memories that will remain,
will be the scene
I loved.
Things that I still find dark
in my life,
soon, there will be light,
both at the start
and end of my tunnel.
I'll hold on to hope,
and trust in His might,
for He's the only one
that can win me my fight,
and make things right.

The poet persona says he believes that God shall turn the former's sorrows to joy. The speaker employs a brilliant connotative use of the word, "Towel". The bard says he would not lose his faith.
