"DON'T DO IT" BY MAURICE CHIADZWA
Don’t load it all in your head
Don’t let that precious heart fret
Don’t let life pass you by
Because of something you could live by
Don’t let life’s vicissitudes haunt you
Because of one block you can’t see through
For every stop you crush against
For every path that’s flooded with mist
There is another side for each
So don’t crush, don’t bow but try to breach…
Don’t let anxiety bury your joy
Or kill the battalions of dreams you deploy
For every dream calls for the dreamer to pull,
The dream from the blurry pool
So hold well, hold firm, hold on
The arrows of anxiety will be gone
And soon we’ll rejoice all over again
And you will forget all about the pain
… remember, life ought to be lived
Dreams ought to be believed
Till they sprout from the forest floor
Until we busk in your light and glow
Keep in mind… winter gets followed by spring
The howl silences when birds begin to sing
So don’t let anxiety slow you down
Calm, steady, and cool down…
