"THE MIRROR I SEE" BY THE PUNSMITH
Through the broken mirror,
I see faces in cracked places.
Each face, a trace…
A trace of what I lace
My mind to brace.
Perfection's affection
Caught me societal delusions,
Like promptly drinking a gallon of water,
After a million miles walk
Across the Sahara.
But now I seek change.
If my second tongue
Pisses out ink,
Piece by piece,
To inscribe a jibe so I tribe my vibe,
What trace will I lace
For my face to transcribe
A perfect mirror
For others to subscribe.
Do I bribe my way…
Nigerian steeze?
Or change the changed
And still get a loose change?
No,
I'll arrange a range
For my strange to stray,
To get a fresh phase.
I'm a Nigerian Youth,
Ready to sharpen my reflection
Until it's mine.

The poet persona uses a broken mirror to represent the unfavourable situations of his country. Hence, the bard believes he will surely take positive actions that would change Nigeria.
