HOPE POEM: "DREAM ON" BY ABDULRAZAK MUHAMMED
Sleep off and dream on,
It can't be changed else it'll add to it,
Chances are slim and death weight seems light
Better to be dead
than live in this mess.
Suicide squads are not at peace
and it seems to be the greatest escape from here,
my pen bleeds and begs for mercy
for my thoughts seem endless
but my pages are numbered.
Dream on, soldier boy
This war will still be retaking
Dream on, The great Bard
Your truth still change no minds
Ohh!
Dream on, My boy
Life is better when you're asleep
you'll enjoy pending the time you're in your dream
The life you want might come
at the last minute,
But soon enough you'll leave it all to be useless
Lost and coned in a pitiful pit,
Still begging for mercy
for life we had no agreement to live in,
Rounded by rules to survive
and even been dealt with for struggling
to survive,
Run wild and get it soon
the world always knock the wrong door
with worthless dime.

The poet persona speaks on the peace one gets when one is asleep. Yet, when man is awake again, he begins to face the struggles of life. Hence, one needs to work and dream on_no matter what.
