DIRGE: "SO SOON" BY AKEEM SOLIU ENIOLA
We were faithful to memory shared.
And if you go what will I remain?
Distance curtails heavy happiness.
But last seen raises love heart.
Out of given pain comes beautiful smile.
Maybe your love is my soul.
If comes the departure of our world my soul will react.
Though crown our love is, we are honoured.
Let your heart remains here for celebration.
Vehemently your legs talk reluctantly to walk you there.
And your eyes declear undesired tears.
If to heal your painful cry,
I will come running when thy howling voice I heard so hard.
Why did you wake me when farewell you wanted to pay,
and you know sadness will follow?

Learning to mend my pen's goofs.

The poet persona speaks on the positive memories he remembers of a dead person. The voice feels bad over the demise of the person. The bard askes the demised several questions on why he or she decided to leave the land of the living so soon.
