JEREMIAD: "A POET'S LIFE" BY MYLISTIC
Looking at me
You may think
Think that my bed is made of roses
Not knowing how thorny it's
To appoint I think twice before lying down on it
In order to avoid getting pricked!
I'm known to be cheerful
You may think I lead the cheering squad
My pen is meant to deceive
Fake my emotions
Having unseen tears
While I'm dying from within.
I'm known to be a player
Yet I play on ball games
Neither do I toss ladies like chips
Loneliness clouds my world
As emptiness fills my soul
While accusations rain on me.
Yes I'm a poet
Making others happy is my obligation
Relieving others from their misfortune is my job
But I'm forgotten and seen as dirt
They cast me aside
Knowing I'm not a robot and I got feelings.
Being a poet is journey
A journey full of pain
I walk bare footed on hot rocks
Some cut through my flesh
Whether I bleed or not, no one cares
Like a lone wolf I meant to journey by myself!

The poet persona laments and leaks the feelings of poets. Thus, poets appear happy and satisfied in their compositions. Yet, they are facing a lot of pains within.
