A WRITER TO THE WORLD: RADICAL LIBERTINE

Radical Libertine (Blessing Simbarashe Chigunda) was born on October 2, 1996, at St. Michael's Hospital in Mhondoro. He is the firstborn of Daniel Chigunda and Teckla Maravanyika, and has four younger brothers. Radical Libertine attended Gillingham Primary School and later moved to Dzivarasekwa 1 High School for his secondary education. Due to financial constraints, he completed his secondary school at Chidiya Secondary School in Murewa.

In his final year of O-level studies, his writing talent was recognized, and he began taking poetry tutorials from a dedicated tutor. Later, he met the late Blessing T Masenga, whose book "The Rhythm That Rattled Him from Power" inspired him to pursue writing.

Radical Libertine's writing career took off in 2017 when his poem "Circumcision" was published in an anthology by Tendai R Mwanaka. This was followed by the publication of two more poems, "Maladministration" and "Tired of Slogans," in "The Voice of Africa" by Mbizo Chirasha. He is currently working on a collection of poems, which promises to be a satirical and imaginative anthology.

Apart from his writing, Radical Libertine is a political commissar of the Zimbabwe Communist Party (ZCP) and a law student. His notable works have been published in Intanga newspaper, and he looks forward to connecting with like-minded individuals to further develop his writing skills.
