ANITA THE MURDERER BY AKEEM SOLIU ENIOLA.
Dr. Lawal didn't know he wouldn't meet his death through his health. He was suffering from heartattack and yet he kept loving Anita. I will not say he was myopic or eagle-eyed. He just didn't notice the storm coming in the future to avert it. The storm that would take him away and never return him to his home.
Love caused him dead. Yes it did. Because he fell in love with an ingrate. His mother had issued him warnings severally, but his eyes were clogged with temporary sweet of love not to see the mournful tears of Mr. Dairo's relatives, whose death also came from the like of Anita. His head was dented with sweet assurance like potatoes from Anita, that he, with confidence lost on the dwell of the flexibility of her assurance.
In desperation, he had done much as sacrifices to sustain his love in her. One could only mention but few. He offered her sponsorship throughout her Bs. c. He was a donor of a kidney to her when hers became obsolete. One would assume those were the priceless thing a woman would think about to remain attached to a man forever. But reverse was the case of Lawal.
Out of deep affection, his feelings of tenderness was terrible that no mouth could bear its expression. He called it a luck to have won the heart of a beautiful demon (lady). He would wake up in the morning and for him to have quickened his dress up for work, he would saddle himself with unprofitable, unproductive, if to him is otherwise, task to be gazing at her pictures in his phone gallery.
Inarguably, for the number of years they had been coming, kiss, hug or romance, nothing of such was never came into an attempt. It wasn't Lawal's decision neither choice but the conditional force of Anita's will. Maybe Dr. Lawal would buy himself some sense here.
Seasons had dragged into a year, Lawal had suspected Anita's going about cheating on him with one Chief in her town without his consent. He deemed it necessary to go into further investigation. It was obvious that Chief Olowo was the man.
This name sounds somehow? Women love luxurious life than any other things. Chief Olowo was a professional womanizer. He went about chasing every woman that interested his sexual urge and not heart. One would hysterically laugh to have heard "professional" qualifies his title "womanizer", because I couldn't fetch the right adjective.
Lawal had warned Anita several times but she firmly insisted that nothing was going on between them.
'Okay. Fine', said Lawal. 'Stop meeting him except you want two souls to meet God the same day'.
His uneasiness became more tense about Anita's frequency with Chief. He had threatened her to his best limit but she never seemed to stop. Only that she kept saying nothing was going on.
Anita threw Lawal a piece of advice. He asked him to threaten Chief and issue him warnings to never cross her path again. She dressed in angel form, spoke and assured.
Love. Love of your life advises you. Who are you to reject?
Lawal dressed in white attire, hung his spectacle over his eyes, put on his covered shoes and drove aggressively which made his driving reckless to the Chief's residence. One would think he had seen his death and that's why he dressed in white to be shrouded in it after his soul had flied.
Squad had been in arrangement; the one that would welcome him to his death. Upon his entry, his head was forced to raise up and his face was covered with fierce look of anger, and was surprised to see Anita sitting bedside the Chief. He rubbed off his face to see clearly again and yet he didn't believe until he heard her saying the Chief should pronounce his punishment.
Then his fierce look was tamed with fear of death. He began to count the beads of tears rolling to his cheeks. He continued sobbing, pointing a finger after his thumb towards her, calling her to his side but his fate went against him that Anita wickedly denied him and she asked Chief to declare his judgment over Lawal.
Chief rose from the couch, cleared his throat and pronounced, "Hang the devil within him over the cross, remove his tongue, eyes, nose, ears and manhood. And set the angry fire to burn from below to above him. Let him not die instantly. Maybe after that he would learn in his next coming to avoid dragging woman with me again.
He died for what wasn't worth it. And when asked again, he would say I die for love...
Anita killed a very young talented and skilled medical doctor.
