JEREMIAD- 'AJEBUTTER VS. AJEPAKO' BY FATIMAH ZAHRA.
AJEBUTTER:
I am one from an affluent family,
riches are at my beck and call,
I am born with a silver spoon.
AJEPAKO:
Never heard the word affluent,
never tasted what it means and feels like to be rich,
born with a plastic spoon.
AJEBUTTER:
At breakfast, my meals are sumptuous and palatable,
dessert served during lunch,
at dinner peppered chicken soup is served.
AJEPAKO:
Watery pap and two pieces of Akara balls is served for breakfast,
no lunch, a slim probability of obtaining dinner
AJEBUTTER:
Bath in a Jacuzzi with refreshing scent of air freshener,
Oh My!
How good it feels to be rich.
AJEPAKO:
Cold water used for bathing sends shivers and chills down my spine,
the annoying scent of the locally made soap
and how slippery it can be
if am to come to this world in my next phase of life,
I will never choose to be born with a plastic spoon
