Someone being bad to you should not give you the energy to become worse in return, because you will only be adding to the algorithms of bad people living on the surface of the earth... You will not solve problems like that. 

Let those bad people know that you're distinctively different from them. Don't confuse them in that regard, let them know and confirm within them that you're a good person. 

 Avoid their harm, take precautions against their attack and do not retaliate except with the exact measure of what you were wrong with if it's within the permissibility of the law, but if it's not, allow the law to take it into its hands don't indulge yourself. Never you be the instigator of the chaos. 

In fact, being at the war front doesn't warrant the loss of goodness, always be good in all ramifications and lastly, do not lose the saint of your goodness because of the evil of someone else.
