It is a fact that you can't change people if they don't want to change their ways themselves. Your impact will remain futile if they are not willing to effect the change. 

You cannot be more than a simulator, a motivator, mentor, and instructor. You will not slice the head of a flippant to download intelligence in it. Only them can take their decisions to their head, you will not be able to do that for them. You cannot do more than to convince them to see the light. 

Don't withdraw anyway, ensure you do your own part; give admonition when it's needed. Even if they wouldn't take heed, you have fulfilled your responsibility. Your action will not affect them if they wish. Don't let theirs affect you negatively.
