Sermon ' UNDERSTANDING THE SCRIPTURES '

Some extremism are:

Memorizing the scriptures is not important, doing it is the important thing_ ( Truth: Memorizing and doing are both very important and have their varying benefits.)

_# even the devil can quote scriptures, so it's not about quoting scriptures_ ( Truth: *that the devil can do it doesn't mean it's of the devil, devils don't quote scriptures, they misquote it for you and want you to apply them wrongly... That's why we must memorize and understand scriptures correctly!* )

_#Having the bible in your spirit is the important thing and not having it in your head (brain)!_.... (Truth: *The word of truth should be everywhere! It's important! Fill your mind & brain with it*)

*To fulfill God's purpose and will in our lives, we need the content and substance of His Word in our hearts and minds!*

*In Matthew 4, Jesus used Scripture to stand firm against temptation in the desert. He didn’t pull out his pocket Torah and leaf through it until he found the verses he needed. He had them hidden away in his mind, ready to use when he needed it most. The relationship between the human mind and the Word of God is powerful: during dark times, the Holy Spirit calls out these memorized verses to bring you wisdom, strength, and hope.*

*I was 16 years old when I chanced upon a quote by Late Evangelist Billy Graham which says "one of the greatest thing a believer can do is to memorize the scriptures!"*
At 17 I had already memorized 1000 verses of scriptures and  10 chapters of the Bible
Romans 8 being my longest and favourite even till now!
I discovered the more I commit scriptures to memory the easier, better and faster I understand every other thing

*When you fill your mind with scriptures, it empowers you over sin, worry, failure and most especially Lust!*
*Your mind becomes WORD filled and you hear and know  which is God's voice in your mind more speedily and easily*
