VICE-CHANCELLOR INAUGURATES NEW LASU CBT CENTRE 2, REMODELLED OJO GATE FENCE

Even as her administration winds down, the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM, has continued to inaugurate completed projects, a pattern that has characterised her administration and underscored her commitment to delivering tangible improvements across the University until the very end of her tenure.

On Thursday, 17th September 2026, the Vice-Chancellor, alongside members of the University Management, inaugurated two projects: the LASU Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre 2 and the remodelled LASU Ojo Gate fence along the Badagry Expressway, stretching from the Ojo Gate to the Conoil Filling Station.
The LASU CBT Centre 2, a 385-capacity facility for computer-based examinations, was inaugurated on the first floor of the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu New Library. The new centre complements the existing 350-capacity CBT Centre located on the ground floor of the same building, further expanding the University’s ICT and examination infrastructure and strengthening its capacity to conduct large-scale computer-based assessments.

The second project was the remodelling of the LASU Ojo Gate fence, which has undergone a significant transformation to improve the appearance and security of the University’s frontage. The fence was cleaned and repainted, while flowers and other landscaping elements were introduced to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Demarcation measures were also put in place to protect the facility from vandalism and unauthorised access.

The remodelled fence now presents a cleaner, more orderly and more befitting entrance to the University, contributing to the overall appearance of the campus and reinforcing the administration’s attention to infrastructure, aesthetics and environmental improvement.

The inauguration of the two projects took place earlier in the day, ahead of the Vice-Chancellor’s Valedictory Lecture later that day and just two days before the conclusion of her tenure on 19th September 2026.

The projects further reflects the administration’s practice of completing and commissioning developments across the University, even in the closing days of its five-year tenure.

Distinguished Professor OLATUNJI-BELLO was joined at the inauguration by members of management and other senior officials of the university.

We are LASU, We are Great!
