REFLECTIVE: "RESULT"
Sometimes, lightning passes through your eyelid to create brightness elsewhere.
It's a striking sound of thunder that seems the sky will tear,
but in time, everything goes silent and dry
like the soil has never felt a drop of water.
Sometimes
it's a heavy breeze that can shift one's destiny
evolving with dirt and sand,
carrying its dirt from one door to another.
Suddenly,everything goes quiet,
like the true calmness of a new dawn.
Sometimes,
we count days
we watch the sky
following the evolving of day into night,
not missing how the sky envelopes the sun.
But at the end,
when the full moon is born
we lose count.
The brightness becomes dim
like it wasn't the same moon
we admired on day one.
Alas,
we await another day
for the bright moon to be born.
While waiting,
we did light this with our day sun, before the sun says goodbye to the day.
OlaAllah
After losing count of those who have celebrated,
while waiting for my shine day to come.
The poem “Result” explores the experience of waiting for a desired outcome, success, or moment of fulfilment. Through images of lightning, thunder, wind, the sun, and the moon, the poet compares life’s changing circumstances to the uncertainty of waiting. The speaker describes how excitement and hope can gradually turn into disappointment when the expected result does not come, especially as others seem to celebrate their achievements.
The poem ultimately portrays patience, hope, and perseverance in the face of delayed success. Despite losing count of those who have already celebrated, the speaker remains hopeful that their own “shine day” will eventually arrive.
