BEFORE OTHERS NOTICE BY_ IBUKUNOLUWA MARY ODUNTAN
It's a bright Monday morning.
Blessing was done with her morning devotion. She stepped into the bathroom to take her bath, removed her neatly hung dress from the wardrobe and put it on.
This time, she was done applying her skincare. She picked up her bag and was ready to take her leave for work. But then, a thought flashed through her mind to take a look at herself one more time, to see if there was any place that needed adjustment in her dressing before exiting the door.
As she was checking herself in the mirror, something caught her attention. She took some steps forward to the mirror. She realised there were pimples on her fresh and smooth face, but they were not so obvious. She's always been known for her smooth and perfect skin, anyone would admire to have.
She receives compliments from her colleagues at work for her perfect skin and pretty face, but there she was, seeing some little pimples that needed urgent care.
So, she decided to get herself a face cream on her way back from work to clear them before they became what others noticed.
Let's imagine we check God's Word just as Blessing checked herself in the mirror, checking for our flaws and where to adjust our way of life before others notice and have to tell us.
Let's assume we study it and look into it to make corrections. There is always a word for you in the Scripture. It reveals your weaknesses and how to amend them. It's the best life manual guide.
You don't need to fall into some error before you learn your lessons. It prevents you from making mistakes that come with guilt. It reveals you to yourself before anyone does.
Psalm 119:105 — “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
This week, let His Word be the guide to your steps.
I hope you find this helpful.
