THE WRONG PRAYER PROTOCOL_ BY BISHOP SAHR ISAAC PETERSON
A certain man kept asking God for money, day after day, prayer after prayer, believing that one day cash would fall into his hands like manna from heaven.
He fasted, sowed seeds, cried, waited, and complained, yet, unknown to him, God had already answered.
The answer just did not come in the form he expected, instead of dropping money into his lap, God had given him ideas, insight, skills, opportunities, and access to people.
However, because the man was only looking for physical money, he kept missing the provision that had already been placed within his reach.
This is where many people misunderstand how God works. God rarely gives money directly, what He gives is far more powerful and sustainable: knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and capacity.
Money is a product, knowledge is the source. When God wants to bless a person financially, He does not bypass process.
He empowers the person to create value. Scripture makes this clear when it says, 'it is God who gives you the power to get wealth'.
Notice that it does not say He gives wealth outright; it says He gives the power to get it. That power comes in the form of ideas, skills, discipline, and divine direction.
Money in itself solves problems temporarily, but knowledge builds systems that continue to produce results.
If God were to give a man a large sum of money without first giving him understanding, the money would eventually disappear.
This is why some people receive sudden wealth and lose it just as suddenly.
Without knowledge, money becomes a burden rather than a blessing.
However, when God gives knowledge, He gives something that cannot be stolen, exhausted, or devalued.
Knowledge grows, multiplies, and adapts to seasons.
Often, the answer to financial prayers looks like an instruction. God may lead someone to learn a skill, start a small business, go back to school, improve their communication, or solve a problem in their environment.
These instructions are not distractions from the blessing; they are the blessing in seed form.
Unfortunately, many people ignore these promptings because they do not look spiritual enough.
They want miracles, not methods, they want results, not responsibility.
God works through principles. He designed the earth to respond to effort, value, and stewardship.
Even in the Bible, miracles of provision were often tied to action, the widow had to pour oil, Peter had to cast his net.
The servants had to fill the pots with water. In every case, God supplied the power, but humans participated in the process. In the same way, financial increase often requires partnership between divine insight and human obedience.
Another mistake people make is despising small beginnings. God may give someone an idea that starts small, earns little at first, and requires patience, however, within that small idea is the capacity for growth.
Knowledge matures when it is applied consistently. Skills sharpen with use.
Opportunities expand when faith is matched with work.
Many prayers remain unanswered not because God is silent, but because people are unwilling to start where God points them.
It is also important to understand that knowledge is not limited to formal education.
It includes understanding the needs of people, learning from experience, observing problems, and finding better ways to do things.
A person who learns how to solve problems will never lack money for long, because money flows toward solutions.
When God opens your eyes to see value where others see inconvenience, He is positioning you for provision.
The man who kept asking God for money eventually grew frustrated, not realising that God had already equipped him.
The real question was not whether God had answered, but whether the man was willing to recognise the answer.
God had placed tools in his hands and wisdom in his mind, what was required next was action.
In the end, God’s goal is not just to put money in your pocket, but to build capacity within you.
Money can be spent once, but knowledge can feed generations, when you understand this, your prayers change.
Instead of only asking for money, you begin to ask for wisdom, direction, clarity, discipline, and the courage to act.
When those things come together, money becomes a natural result, not a desperate request.
