DIDACTIC: "DEATH: A NECESSARY END"
Death: a necessary end
It will come at its time
No one knows when it comes
But it must surely come.
Have you considered?
Some babies died in the womb
Some were aborted and died prematurely
Some died with their mothers on delivery day.
Some died in mysterious circumstances
Some were poisoned
Some were murdered
Some died in accidents
Some died in their sleep.
The breath in man is the life
When it ceases there is no more life
How long it will last, no one knows
One day, it will cease
Time shall be no more.
It is a necessary end
When it comes, no pleading
You cannot take anything with you.
When the breath is in you
When you have the strength to move about
Do the best you can to sow into lives.
While you are gone,
Your legacies live on.
By what will you be remembered?
What seed are you sowing?
Are you towing the path of truth and honour?
Death is a necessary end
It is not announced
It will come at its own time
Remember, there's life after life
Eternity is real
Where will you spend eternity?
The poem “Death: A Necessary End” reflects on the certainty and unpredictability of death. It explains that death comes to everyone in different ways and at different times, regardless of age or status. The poet reminds readers that life is temporary and encourages them to live honorably, positively impact others, and leave behind good legacies. The poem also stresses the spiritual reality of eternity, urging people to think about where they will spend life after death.
