VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROF. OLATUNJI-BELLO, CONGRATULATES PROF. RAIMI MORONFOLU ON HIS ELECTION AS PRESIDENT, NIGERIA SOCIETY FOR SPORTS MANAGEMENT

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on behalf of the entire University community, has warmly congratulated Professor Raimi Abiodun Moronfolu on his election as President of the Nigeria Society for Sports Management (NSSM).

Professor Moronfolu, a professor in the Department of Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education, Faculty of Education, Lagos State University, was elected during the 2026 National Conference of the Society held in Jos from 9th to 12th February 2026. She notes that his emergence as President marks a significant milestone, not only for him personally, but also for the University community.

Describing the election as well deserved, the Vice-Chancellor noted that Professor Moronfolu’s academic distinction, administrative capacity and longstanding contributions to sports management scholarship have earned him national recognition and respect.

“Professor Moronfolu’s election is a testament to his intellectual depth, professional integrity and unwavering commitment to advancing sports management education and practice in Nigeria,” Professor Olatunji-Bello stated. “Lagos State University is proud of his accomplishments and confident that his leadership will further strengthen institutional frameworks, promote research-driven engagement, and deepen collaboration between academia and industry.”

She further expressed optimism that his tenure would contribute meaningfully to enhancing professionalism, ethical standards and innovation within the sports sector.

The University celebrates this achievement and wishes Professor Moronfolu a successful and impactful tenure as he leads the Society into a new phase of growth and national relevance.
