VICE-CHANCELLOR UNVEILS NEWLY RENOVATED RECEPTION AREA BY LASU MBA 2024/2025 SET

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on Saturday, 7th February 2026, formally inaugurated the newly renovated reception area of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Administrative Building, a project donated by the LASU MBA 2024/2025 Executive Set in partnership with the Gbenusi Development Association 2025/2026 Set.

In his opening remarks, the Coordinator of the LASU MBA Programme, Prof. Adekunle Idris, commended the Vice-Chancellor for the visionary leadership that inspired the renovation of the facility.

Corroborating this, the President of the LASU MBA 2024/2025 Set, Mr Moruf Adeniran, explained that the managers (students), having identified the need to improve the reception area of the MBA building, sought and obtained the approval of the University Management to undertake the renovation. He stated that the completed project, which was presented for inauguration, was the outcome of that collective initiative. He expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the LASUMBA leadership for their encouragement and support throughout the process.

In her response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Oluwatoyin Enikuomehin, commended the managers for their positive contribution to the university. He noted that the strength of the MBA programme lies not only in its curriculum but also in the social impact of its graduates.

 “The MBA programme is the best in the country, and what makes it outstanding is not just the curriculum, but the social impact its products create. That impact is reflected in this project. This is what leadership is about. You have demonstrated that collective effort, good faith, and shared vision can produce meaningful results. We are proud of you. Well done.”

The Chairman of the Gbenusi Development Association, Mr Ogunshina Rotimi Williams, who is also a student of the programme, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the MBA leadership for the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of the university.

The unveiling ceremony was followed by an on-the-spot assessment of the MBA building by the Vice-Chancellor’s delegation.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Dean, Postgraduate School, Prof. Ibrahim Olateju; the Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof. Gbenga Akindoju; and the Professor of Accounting, Prof. James Kehinde, alongside other senior officials of the university.
