SOCIAL CRITIQUE: "SUDAN MUST NOT DIE IN SILENCE" BY MIC WARRIOR

Where are the voices of justice?
Where are the global powers that claim to stand for human rights and peace?

The UAE hides behind skyscrapers,
but truth always bleeds through
Sudan screams through the silence,
and no amount of luxury or lies can bury that sound.

They use Islam like a brand, not a belief.
They build gold-plated mosques
while bombing Muslim villages.
They speak “salaam” in press conferences
but send weapons through back channels.

Silence is what allowed this to last 1,200 years.
We must educate and expose —
in schools, in music, in mosques, in art.

We talk openly about the transatlantic trade,
but the Arab slave trade still sits in the shadows.

This poem is a powerful *Protest Poem* that critiques global powers and highlights the hypocrisy of nations like the UAE in their treatment of Sudan. Through rhetorical questions and vivid imagery, the poet condemns the silence and complicity enabling atrocities in Sudan, calling for awareness, education, and exposure. The poem's urgent tone and pointed language make it a strong example of spoken word poetry advocating for justice and human rights.
