JEREMIAD: "GAMBIA DESERVES DEVOTED AND TRANSPARENT LEADERS" by MIC WARRIOR

Gambia deserves devoted and transparent leaders,
Leaders who are ready to move our nation forward,
Leaders who are ready to dared resilience.

Youths the backbone of the country they said, but they're too tasty to taste the fruits of their Government's,
As Hope fades and despair became the alarm.

When i think the system my heart shattered reflecting only pain and shame,
The Gambia is a country burning in silence.

The Gambia our Motherland
Deserve devoted leaders,
How many peoples wake to sleep hungry like a abundant Palestinians,
When homelessness our leaders weaknesses became the curse of the generation.

To end this despise
We stand as one voice,
And use our brains, pens and mic to bleeds out the truth.

This poem is a passionate, free-verse protest piece that laments the state of governance in Gambia, expressing deep frustration with leaders who are perceived as lacking devotion, transparency, and effectiveness. It highlights the suffering of the youth and ordinary citizens, who are hungry, homeless, and disillusioned, comparing their plight to that of Palestinians, emphasizing widespread hardship and neglect. The poem uses vivid, emotional language—“burning in silence,” “heart shattered,” “pain and shame”—to convey a sense of national crisis and collective grief. It also calls for unity and resistance through intellectual and creative means—“brains, pens, and mic”—suggesting that truth and activism can challenge and change the current despair. The tone shifts from sorrow and criticism to a rallying cry for empowerment and collective action, urging Gambians to stand together and speak out against their leaders’ failures. The poem’s raw, urgent voice reflects a spoken word style, blending personal pain with a broader social and political message, aiming to awaken consciousness and inspire change in the nation.
