JEREMIAD: "INSECURENESS" BY THE EMINENT
Uncertainty clouds the nation’s shield,
Self‑doubt entwines with trembling fear,
A lion roars within its hollow den,
Is power steady or does it fade?
We sink together in the tide of insecurity.
Insecureness binds all souls to anxious roads,
Feet stumble where freedom once walked,
Oh, what a weary, piercing fate.
Those sworn to guard and keep us safe,
To shield the people and the land,
Now fracture the pillars they were meant to raise.
