“DETTY DECEMBER”: WHEN A CARELESS PHRASE BEGINS TO INSTRUCT A SEASON- BY OMOBA ABIOLA

Words are not mere ornaments.
They are instruments.

Spoken or unspoken, they shape atmospheres. They condition the air around us. They instruct time how to behave. What we say, just like what we think: is never neutral. The tongue is like a fire that can ignite the whole, if not controlled! Like the little rudder on a massive ship that controls movement or direction. It may look inconsequential, but it's effect is monumental!

The life many are living today did not just arrive suddenly. It was assembled quietly, over time, from what was repeatedly proclaimed over them, what they heard often,  & what they accepted without interrogation & began to proclaim too, & then they pass on too, vie oral tradition. Some of these declarations were never questioned & were never the actual (truth), yet they carried consequences that followed faithfully over generations for that matter.

There are things we embraced not because they were true, but because they were familiar. Because they sounded harmless. Because everyone else had already agreed to them. Belonging, at times, becomes more important than discernment.

One such thing is this “Detty December” refrain.

To many, it is nothing more than a phrase, playful, fashionable, seemingly innocent. Abeg, na just vibes nothing more jare! The spiro people go just they make am too serious... Abeggi...
But that is precisely how influence works when it intends to go unnoticed. The most effective things rarely announce themselves as dangerous. The creep in like it's so natural, so organic!

Some of the gravest outcomes in human experience were produced by ideas that 1st arrived as mere jokes, just trends, or harmless expressions. They hid in "plain sight" plain site, until their effects were already active.

Negative spiritual influence rarely presents itself with horns, fangs, claws & warnings. It prefers disguise (subterfuge). It thrives where thought has been suspended.

That is why certain images, stories, & characters are never as light as they appear. A witch- like Sabrina, for instance, is not a neutral figure. Just flying on a broom, looking old & haggard isnt the full description of a witch. There are young, brilliant, stunners, who are next door neighbours or even family members & associates who are rampant witches.
There is no such thing as a “good” or kind witch. None!
Real witchcraft, by nature, is not redeemable (can't be reversed). It's about a nature that has become irreversibly thwarted, once you go on that route, there's no return!
This is why ancient wisdom treated it with severity, not out of cruelty, but out of understanding when it says suffer not a witch to....it wasn't a mistake. And no, this is not an endorsement of violence in any way; it is an acknowledgment of spiritual reality (fact). You cannot do deliverance on a real witch, the nature is thwarted already irreversibly! That full human nature is gone forever. A witch is irredeemably wicked & can't repent! That's the import of suffer not a witch to....

Much of what we consume innocently is well laced. This is said deliberately, & mildly. And I want it to hit home!

So when a month is repeatedly declared “detty”, dirty (a totally negative connotation), it should surprise no one when outcomes gradually align with the declaration. Words are like seeds, when watered consistently, it much surely bear fruits. Seasons respond to language. Time submits to instruction. A thing will always produce according to what has been consistently spoken over it.

There is nothing casual about naming the final month of a year “dirty/detty.” There is nothing harmless about it either.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise.
And wisdom, we are reminded, is not common, which is why we are urged to seek it deliberately.

NB:
If words were so powerless, we would not be careful with names we give to things. Yet no sane person proudly names their child, publicly, permanently, Bastard, Swine, Death, Witch, Destruction, Demon, Assassin, Useless, Unfruitful, Fruitless.... all of these & more are actual expressions of abuse, so they are negative.

Instinctively, we understand that words shape identity.
That language assigns destiny.
That what is spoken repeatedly begins to govern outcomes.

So the question is not whether words matter.
The question is which ones we are willing to live under.

Think loudly about it, where do certain words/slangs/'vibes' emanates from? Who conjured them & quietly set them forth? Your unrelenting, unrepentant enemy at a point engaged subterfuge, when he changed his vestiges to assume another. When he deliberately changed his clothing to appear like light, harmless, good. So bad began to define you are actually good, just a common happening slang & no more. It even became a best selling song! Conditioning! Hmmmmm...

Peace.

Before casually dismissing this, like you may want to do or actually do, put on your thinking cap for just a second, at least let your brain try to work for a few minutes. Carefully ponder on the discuss as it hurts no one. Not everything is a joke!
