WHERE SHAH RUKH KHAN MET HIS WIFE

In 1984, at a Delhi party, 18-year-old Shah Rukh Khan saw a girl with long hair and a lovely smile — Gauri. He nervously asked,

“Can I dance with you?”

She replied, “I’m waiting for my boyfriend.”

Heartbroken, he walked away — only to find out later, she was waiting for her brother!

That sweet misunderstanding turned into friendship, and soon into love. But Gauri’s conservative Hindu Punjabi family didn’t approve of their relationship, as Shah Rukh was Muslim.

They dated in secret for years. Eventually, Gauri left for Mumbai. Shah Rukh, desperate and heartbroken, searched the city — and finally found her at a beach. They cried, and chose love over everything.

In 1991, after many struggles, they married — first in court, then in both Hindu and Muslim ceremonies.

Today, they remain one of Bollywood’s strongest and most inspiring couples.
