98TH EDITION OF VOICE THE MIMBARR: HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND SLAMIC PSYCHOLOGY OF PERSONALITY- BY DR RAZAQ BOLAWAYE

Human being as a product of soul and body appears genuinely composed for extra-ordinary purpose in which Ibaadah is integral. In more exact premise, a manufacturer laid a brand-new product with guiding manual to enhance enjoying the value for cost of the product. Unless this is followed, not only the life-span of the product is altercated but also the owner suffers huge loss and stiff inconvenience. It is to this end that the Poet, Al-Busoeriy aptly recorded: "Human mind is similar to new born who grows on; breastfeeding but refuses to wean but with force."
In the foremost knowledge (Ilmu Azaliyyah), it was recorded that sequel to the creation of Intellect the unique question "Who are you?" was posted to it. In a swift response, 'I am Your creature and You are my Creator' quickly gave it frontline roles in the scheme of virtually everything of worth in life, 'Be the leader in all ramifications'. In the same manner the question was posted to human mind (Nafs) after its creation. "I am that I am" was the answer from its direction. Put it in the hell (Sa'ir). Given a second chance, but the same answer. 'Cast it with anger into hell' was the treatment. The third attempt of the question after a while reflected a dint of lesson when it responded :'I am Your creature and You are my Creator'. This convincingly sprouted from it seven different types of element which culminated in varieties of human personalities.
Before long, Allah refers to the implications of this narrative in the holy Qur'an Surah 17:72: " But those who were blind in this world, will be blind in the Hereafter, and most astray from the path." To this end, human being is at liberty to chose which of the eight under-listed categories of mind-frames. These mind-frames predispose man to actions, reactions, commission, omission, attitude and dispositions that result in both development and otherwise in human circle. However, a human being in his right frame of mind is desirable for overall and uptimum development.
To start with, النفس الامارة (Forceful mind-frame) tends to be stingy, coverteous, ignorant, evil, envious, annoying and of course incriminating. Prophet Yusuf (AS) testified to this as flesh when it was recorded: 'But for the mercy of his Lord... ' Second to that is النفس اللاوامة (Reprimanding Mind-frame). This appears pompous, tricky, capricious and sourcing but sooner turns around to pour blame on the bearer after a long session of misdeed. It lives in the same house with conscience which happens to be a stage in human development.
Inculcating Mind-frame النفس الملهمة takes the center-stage in tending to balance between the instructions of good and evil. "And (I swear by the soul, and the proportion and order given to it. And its inspiration ad to its wrong and its right" (Qur'an 91:7-8). It posits that the kind of mind-frame is open to two ways; prosperity for who purifies it and failure for its corrupter. Next in the radar is the Righteous Mind-frame ( النفس المطمءنة ) to which it will be commanded on the Last Day.
The next two Mond-frames النفس الراضية and النفس المرضية the manner of rewards melted to the duo that: "(To the righteous soul will be said): 'O (you) soul,, in (complete) test and satisfaction! "Come back you to your Lord, -well pleased (yourself), and well-pleasing unto Him!. Enter you, then, among My Devotees! Yes, enter you My Paradise."
The immediate factor is self-explanatory as it honourable,reliant on Allah, pleasant and grateful. These symbolize the minds of Prophets, Messengers, Saints and Devotees to the services of Allah. In its characteristics, surrender to the dictates of Allah is the frontier of persons with these mind-frame and this is captured in the following line:
امي علمه الباري وادبه # وعلم العالمين العلم والادب meaning: "Stark Ignorant who was taught in knowledge and moral; On return trained the worlds worthy knowledge and moral." This leads us to the final form of the mind-frame which is ( النفس الشفيعة ).
The final catogory of mind-frame is the tenderly and adorable. It addresses the real acquaintance with the knowledge of Allah in its pristine form. It is such a complete and perfect mind that humbles for and fears Allah to the fullest. It may not be uncommon to find such mind being amiable, gentle soft and tethered to the directives of Allah.
To this end, a Muslim should address himself to the question of 'What type of person am I among the eight categoriesmentioned above?'. This and other questions come to mind with a view to self-examine for safety from mind-corrupt tendencies. An Armed Robber, a Bandit, a Fraudster and Cyber Criminal find levels among the categories though, are they ready for change for better? A Teacher aiding and albeiting examination malpractices pretentiously galvanizes tomorrow serial killer Physician, devilish Administrator, inhuman rather robotic Lawyer and un-ethical Social Worker.
It suffices to add that many types of diseases contribute to this psycho-social ill plaguing humanity in general. These include but not limited to coverteous, aggressive and ego-centricsm. Most solutions to mind development are burried in the Sunnan Adhkar (Allah's remembrace), regular and constant Salat establishment, empathy for others, charity-giving, Sawm (superrogatory fast) at intervals, Refrain from evil, lewdness and wickedness, and of course enjoining goodness with character and dispositions.
