HOPE POEM: "BEFORE YOU SOAR" BY MAURICE CHIADZWA
They say it’s only for those with wings
I say, it’s also for those with the will
Keep thinking on how to fly while you crawl
But trust the process, what you need to know
Because the first days are those of learning
With passion and desire both vigorously burning
When you shamelessly show the toothless smiles
And hope that you’ll walk and run for miles
But these are the days of crawling, slow going…
When you learn to stand, on your two feet
You put one leg in front, another behind, the treat!
Walk gently at first, then pick up the pace
Go faster, but remember, life is not a race
Remember though, you managed to be better yesterday
So grow, become better tomorrow than you’re today
So keep going, faster, better, pick the pace as you're walking
Because there will be days of running
The days of fast paced skilled moving
The days where you know you are not done
Where the fit are proud but the fittest still want a run
Some sweat, some break their legs, some tire out
Some stop to think, while others are in the hurying crowd
There will be stumbles; some will fall but some will fly
Yes, where others fall, some grow wings
Those who well prepare for thr forthcomings
Those who’ve worked out for this moment
Who have seen life is beyond just the ground
Those who dare to dream, who dare to rise
Those who have the fire in their eyes
Those who dare not to tire, those will rise and soar

The poet persona encourages readers to believe in their dreams. The bard says one should be moving in all situations. Before one shall progress, on must be determined no matter the discouragements in the immediate or far environment.
