ROMANTIC DIDACTIC: "LOVE IS BLIND, BUT NOT IN THIS ERA" BY SULAIMON KHALID
As said before our birth, "Love's blind"
but in this era, it's no more,
for love has gained its sight and can now see clearly
what's happening,
and what will happen.
As said before we arrived, "Love doesn't care"—
now this story has changed;
love now cares:
who you are,
where you are,
and what you've got.
Gone are those days of blind affection—
but now the ones that exist
include inspection.
Love in the old days may have been blind,
but the love that lives now
has more than two sights.
In this era of likes, frame, screen, and fame,
love now chases perfection
and flawless skin—
rather than the inner beauty within.
Love is truly blind,
but these days,
the blind ones are scarce.

The poet persona says passion between a man and woman does not progress unconditionally anymore. Hence, lovers are conscious of the effects of strengths and weaknesses of each other. The bard says love is not just a game to be played with, romantic journey is a serious part of someone's life.
