DIDACTIC: "WHAT LEGACY?" BY SULAIMON KHALID

What legacy am I carving?

Is it the one that will fall, when my soul falls

or the one that will still stand, when I exit to the sand.

Is it the one the yet to born will be proud of,

or the one that will make them remember me with curse?

Is it the legacy that will never fade

or the one that will fade, as my death raid.

What legacy?

Is it the one made with deceit,

or the one I have all barriers defeated?

Is it the legacy that will leave me a positive mark,

or the one that will earn me negative remarks?

As I ask myself these questions, wanting answers,

ask yourself too,

What legacy are you carving?
