LESSONS FROM SEVEN DOORS BY FEMI ADEBAYO- BY OGUNDARE

I really enjoyed watching this movie because it portrays the rich Yoruba culture and traditions which I have always admired. But to me as a person I learnt a lot from it and would try to break it down in a way that anyone can understand.

Whoever owns that edifice ( The kings Palace) the grate grand kids would be very proud and happy that it has become a symbol of the Yoruba cultural heritage, history and a blessing to the family.

Now let's delve into the lessibs!

Lesson 1.
Before you take up any form of chieftancy, traditional position it would be good you go back home or to the eldest in the family and let them explain to you how that position was established, what is the story behind it. The previous people what happened to them, what did they sacrifice, what is the implications. Understand every bit of it so that when you begin to face whatever challenges you'd understand that you were informed and you already know what to do.

Yes it was the turn of the king but unknowingly to him the throne has a bad story/history that he was never informed because he didn't ask questions . That was why when the IFA priest told him to knock 7 doors he didn't understand the real meaning, the implications. King was forming hard to get. Please ask questions oooo
Lesson 2
Even after you have taken up a position I need you to know that there will be some people that would still want you to leave the position so they can take it, they'd wrestle with you spiritually, physically in different ways . When you get nominated or appointed don't just go about celebrating, Jubilating and doing unnecessary podcast about how you came on the throne. Fortify yourself and not yourself alone your family. Because I was just worried why would the king be so fortified that his immediate family didn't get such fortification. When your enemies can't get you they'd go after what makes you happy. This should also be something that Nigerian traditionalist needs to work on and include as part of the traditional rites. Don't just fortify your kings, chiefs, please do same to their wives, and children. Make them no go use your family dey roll dice. Even the popular yoruba adage says kokoro to je efo O wa la abe efo. Your greatest enemies can be a member of your household.

Lesson 3
If they tell you that you need to eat this particular soup before things get better for you. Please eat it oooo. Look at how the king just gambled with his life and put the family at risk, all because he doesn't want six more wives. Don't forget it was these same consultations that nominated and selected him but now they are telling him to marry six more wives you are forming KING. I blame the king for Ada's demise because he allowed his poor decision making ability to affect him. The queen self didn't try. I am surprised the queen was the person that encouraged him to take up the position which he listened why wouldn't the same Queen listen to him when he tried to make her understand? Women I fear una oooooooo. Too many pattern full una hard.
Lesson 4
Learn to appreciate good deeds and try to pay back in a good way but it's not necessary you loose your life but if it warrants you to do it just to show how much you want to avoid a major disaster that is about to happen. Las las your legacy will live on forever. What Dele odule did will you say he did the right thing? His legacy will live on. He took a bullet for the king. However was it necessary? KING that refused to listen to the Gods that put him in that position? So Dele odule because the KING built you a new Manson it was enough reason to make your children fatherless. I understand you want to show your gratitude for the new house but please it's not a must to loose your life in the process. Although everything na still movie sha! and people like Dele plenty on this earth.
Finally when the stage is set you would be left to fight your battle all alone and you must win it. Even though if you didn't start the fight but it was necessary that you do to have your freedom please do it. The king knew nothing about esusu. The only evil spirit wey love to ball, esusu even have hype man and stand by DJ. Don't forget the king didn't make the request to live longer but he suffered the consequences for what he knows absolutely nothing about. So sometimes when you are faced with some life challenges just know that it might not be you who commit the sin but someone within your lineage did. So wheever you are praying always pray against sins of the fathers etc

When the battle ground set you must Fight and make sure you win it.
