We currently live in a worn-out world. The past realities are no longer sharp as the earlier times. Normal things as though in the past have become hyper abnormal, ditto for vice versa. That's why you will continue to drown in your shock, disappointment, regret, and paranoia, since you're always meeting or getting the most unexpected of the unexpectedness. 

Meanwhile, nonetheless this worrisome strangeness, it's a deja vu to some beings. If not to most humans, it is to animals and spirits. We are reliving the past events just as the past events are reliving us.
