ABSURDITY"... FRIGHTENING?" BY AJAKAYE STRIDA
Is love frightening?
Yes, no, I don't think so!
Losing your culture to be a disguised wife material,
no matter how pretense surrounds patience,
the reality in you explodes out
like a squashed egg.
Love frightens my pride of living,
love makes me care unnecessarily,
reading a page instead of six pages,
checking on his temperature
instead of the temperature of my academics deadlines,
kissing his lips
when I am ought to kiss my eyes to my system,
writing morning messages instead of world-class articles,
hugging you all seconds instead of Ajakayereaderscorner.com,
feeding you instead of my literary hunger...
Love,
for me, love is not now,
it frightens me to be in love.
