THE NEW DISCOVERY OF SCIENTISTS

In 1972, a team of scientists from MIT used a computer model to look into the future of humanity, and predicted global societal collapse by 2040. As of 2020, scientists who tested this prediction confirmed that we're very much on track to meet this ominous deadline [if we fail to correct course].

For the ancients, before the discovery of the outer planets, the longest orbits were those of Jupiter [12 years] and Saturn [30 years]. The points at which Jupiter caught up with and passed Saturn marked some of the greatest super-cycles and by extension, supreme epochs in the history of mankind; it was therefore known as the Great Conjunction, a phenomenon which occurs every 20 years. 

Remember the Great Conjunction in 2020, when both Jupiter and Saturn were in Aquarius? Thankfully you need not possess cutting-edge predictive AI models to know that the next Great Conjunction will happen again in 2040 [in Libra]. 

This means we're currently in a 200-year air cycle [Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius are air signs], bearing in mind that there are ten Great Conjunctions in each element. 200 year cycles in each of the four elements give rise to a "maxima" Jupiter-Saturn cycle of 800 years. 

Jupiter and Saturn were termed "the great chronocrators" by the ancients, since the respective cycles subdivided time into large units of hundreds of years. The chronocrators were deemed significant due to the economic and political evolution which followed these cycles. To illustrate, the current 20 year cycle plays out like this:

Jupiter Saturn conjunction: December 2020

Jupiter Saturn square: 2024 – 2025

Jupiter Saturn opposition: 2029 – cycle peak (many African nations could be caught up here)

Jupiter Saturn square: 2035 – 2036

Jupiter Saturn conjunction: 2040 – end cycle and new beginning

According to the ancients, when the conjunction took place in water and fire signs [predominated by Jupiter], all was well. When the conjunction took place in earth and air signs [predominated by Saturn], all was not well.

Furthermore, the period from a conjunction to an opposition, or the reverse, of Jupiter and Saturn is 9.93 years; with Saturn and Uranus, it's 22.68 years. 

The 9.93 year period has been identified as a component in the Sunspot cycle, and in the Business cycle. 

The 22.68 year period has been identified as the basic period of variation in the Solar constant, given as 22.83 years. It has also been found to be a Weather cycle, as has one-third of it.

As we can see, the correlations of these three planets appear to deal with Weather, Economics, and Politics; the more concrete phases of human life and environment.

Having said this, there are indications of a significant plutonian-solar event happening in 2028/29, which will be followed by global food shortage. As a continent, reflect on the efficiency of your respective Agriculture ministers, to calculate your chances of achieving food security by 2029 [30 marks].
