PANEGYRIC: "IF ALL MOTHERS BECOME ADUNNI" BY AJAKAYE STRIDA

Adunnimi Owon, My First Love,
Again, Adunni Ajakaye, my Mother,
Adunnimi Owon, my dearest and immortal flower,
Adunnimi Owon, the dermis of my epidermis,
Adunnimi Owon, the stimulant of my writings,
Adunnimi Owon, the breath of my energy,
Adunnimi Owon, my earliest and dateless confidant,
Adunnimi Owon, the baker of my attitude,
Adunnimi Owon, the magician of the kitchen,
Adunnimi Owon, the soldier of discipline and compassion,
Adunnimi Owon, the unapologetic lover of young minds,
Adunnimi Owon, the reflection of straightforwardness,
Adunnimi Owon, the mirror of satisfactory beauty,
Adunnimi Owon, I wish I were you,
I wish I were you to my children I shall bore also.

If all Mothers become Adunni:
all young folks would be with royal attitudes,
all young minds would feature distinct,
but conscious character,
all youths would cultivate president visions,
president thoughts and generate president outcomes,
all youths with rich dreams
would be refined with prayers and encouragement.

If all Mothers become Adunni
In fact, all grandparents, great grandparents,
intersecting family members
would admit the youths as prides of the globe.

Adunnimi Owon,
this poetry is you
and not fiction.
