JEREMIAD: 'OMI PO LOJU E NI'(WATER PLENTY FOR YOUR EYES) BY AJAKAYE STRIDA

You wonder why she cried,

but my pen knows why she cried,

she didn't because 'omi po loju e ni'

she didn't cry because a sea resides in her eyes,

she cried because the tears were uncontrollable.

The poet personae laments over the disappointment of a man she trusts and loves so much. He seems to tell her he doesn't care if she cries but she writes him that she is crying, not because she is childish but because she loves him uncontrollably.
