DIALOGUE: 'I WAS NEVER TOLD' BY ADEYEMI AND OTANYZ03
I was never told,
That life is sweet with pains
Men could not hold
as every moments falls out like rain.
Childhood appears with play,
Old age with white grey,
Death stands in the way like a teacher,
To flog the righteous and sinners,
Old and young,
Short and long.
I was never told,
That life is a mystery,
Appearing as a blurry reality,
Till everyone grows old,
Then it becomes clear,
With sweet and sour;it comes in pairs,
I regret, I was never told.
ADEYEMI KEHINDE DOMINIC
Sequel to Adeyemi's 'I WAS NEVER TOLD'
I was a child when I imagined luxury.
I was a child when I believed every goodies comes easily.
All I did was, getting sugar whenever I wanted from my 'wura' and my 'jigi'.
I was never told I would begin to source,
On my own, as I grow.
Dreams remain dreams,
Rain pours, sun shines.
But, I was never told that, a grown, green plant could burn and die.
Neither was I told that, a standing Iroko tree could hug the land.
