To be sincere, no one prefers to be corrected. The need for correction exposes one's incompetence or inadequacy of the expected knowledge. People prefer to discover their mistakes themselves and make their rectifications before any foreign person will bring that forth. 

Since nobody likes to be exposed, correctors should understand that people don't willingly want to be in the mess of mistakes. Incompetence, lack of knowledge or even accident might have prone that to occur. If you want to correct, ensure its effectiveness by addressing it to the causal factors, the person may be innocent or not, remember the goal of correction is to tackle every portion of guilt with rectifications.
