'THE OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD' BY PASTOR GREG ELKAN.
_“Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.”_ – Rev 19:6
The word “omnipotent” simply means _all-powerful._ When we say that God is omnipotent; we’re simply affirming that He possesses complete, unlimited, or universal power and authority over all of creation.
The omnipotence of God has been a core source of debate among theologians for centuries. Different scholars have posited various contentions about the nature, implication, and possible limits of God’s all-powerfulness. Some scholars have even concluded that the concept of omnipotence is logically and philosophically untenable.
The writers of scripture, however, evidently knew of no such philosophical constraints. To the Old Testament saints, God was the _El Shadday_ – the “Almighty”; He was the _El-Gibbor_ – the mighty God, _Yahweh Nakeh_ – the God who strikes, and _Yahweh Tsabbaoth_ – the LORD of Hosts; (Gen 17:1; Is 9:6; Eze 7:9; 1Sam 1:3).
And in the New Testament, a recurring appellation of God is the _“pantokratōr,”_ which literally means “the omni-potent One” (2Co 6:18; Rev 1:8; 19:6, etc.).
Beloved, this is your season to experience the power of God in a practical, tangible way. You have believed in God’s omnipotence hitherto, now it’s time to see it in your life. Are you ready?
AMEN.
