POETRY OF CONSCIOUSNESS- 'MAMA AFRICA' BY ADEGUN ABIODUN.
Oh mama Africa!
Where do I go from here?
When I was a kid,
you told me to be strong,
but you never told me I'll be strong for myself.
Oh mama Africa!
How do I tell this Tales to my kids?
How do I tell them to be strong by theirself?
How do I tell them to face their fears?
Oh mama Africa!
You never told us it will be hard!
You only told us to be strong,
you never told us there will be no single companion in the struggles of each man
In my next life,
I will be the sand in the Sea.
The sand in the Sea that doesn't fade or die!
Oh mama Africa, this is my letter to you.
