'IT'S TIME FOR YOUR MIRACLE' BY PASTOR GREG ELKAN.
Miracles, from the perspective of Scripture, are primarily for unbelievers. Their main purpose is to serve as indicators of God’s power, and to serve as conversation points through which the message from the LORD is communicated. That’s why the Bible refers to them as _“signs and wonders”_ (Dt 26:8; Ps 78:43; Is 8:18; Jn 4:48; Act 5:12; etc.). They’re used to catch attention (like the Burning Bush to Moses, Ex 3:1-4), or to validate the Gospel message (like the miracles of Jesus and the Apostles, Jn 20:30,31; Hb 2:3,4).
Nevertheless, miracles don’t just reveal God’s power, they also reveal His nature. God is a loving God (1Jn 4:8), and God is a giving God (Jas 1:5). It’s His nature to intervene in the lives of His children to bless them and deliver them from evil. In that sense, miracles are for Believers as well.
As Believers who have been saved for a while, we sometimes resign to the fact that we’re too old in the faith to _need_ miracles. We have been with God long enough and have seen too much evidence of His faithfulness to need Him to validate Himself to us. We don’t need Him to show His power to know that He’s powerful; we don’t need Him to show His love to know that He is loving.
Nevertheless, there’s a difference between needing a miracle in order to believe God exists, and _needing_ a miracle because you’re in a strait. There’s nothing wrong in a Believer needing a miracle for their finance, or health, or marriage. God is not a cunning stingy man that woos a woman with dazzling gifts and presents during courtship but then stops giving the moment she’s now married to him in his house. No. God gives and keeps on giving. He gives to the unbelievers out there who do not know His love; and He gives to His own children each day as they come to Him in faith.
So cheer up Beloved, something _goood_ is lined up for you this season. Have the faith to perceive and receive it in Jesus name.
*“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.* – Ps 102:13.
AMEN
