Permit me to begin with this Yoruba adage that goes thus, "Ibeere kii se onise, afi eni ti o ba pari e de opin" meaning "not the beginner but the finisher, is one whom we crown and acknowledge his efforts".

It is my utmost and warmth pleasure to greet, salute, venerate and congratulate all 400 level ESAN-LASUITES as you informally completed your academic career at the second best university in Nigeria, the Lagos State University, which has reflected in your "sign-out" today.

Studying at the Lagos State University is usually accompanied by various challenges that may frustrate one's intention to continue, many rejected admission, some that accepted were withdrawn due to poor academic status or records of antisocial activities, while some couldn't continue due to financial and emotional downturn, unfortunately, some are no more (I use this medium to pray that the Almighty grant them eternal rest).

For those of us who are privileged to scale through this journey, I want to congratulate you, wishing you all success as you transit into the labour market, may you find favour in the faces of amen, regardless of how sociologists, philosophers or economists might have predicted the doom on the country, you all will be count worthy and shall benefit from the soothing honey of this nation.

I also wish you all a stress-free clearance process, I want to beseech you to remember the Lagos State University as your Alma Mater.
