Sermon ' USELESS ENEMIES '
Elkan's Word For Today.
I’m sure after Og and Sihon unilaterally increased the territories of the Promised Land as much as the Israelites would look forward to having enemies. Maybe they’d start having special prayer sessions for the success of all their enemies’ endeavours (after all, you need Sihon to be healthy and smart to be able to secure Ammonite lands for you, don’t you?).
Unfortunately, not all our enemies bring us blessings. Some enemies are just enemies, period. They have nothing to offer; No conquered lands,no strategic cities,no contiguous territory,…just nothing.
While they may not be able to harm you, they can be a sure waste of time, we have them everywhere: At the office, in the neighbourhood, on the website precisely all the same places where the ‘good’ enemies are.
You need ‘ good ’ enemies that will mess up big time and take you up while planning to bring you down; not useless ones that don’t even know where the top is. Just imagine if the lies of Potiphar’s wife landed Joseph in another prison; imagine if the official that absolutely hated Mordecai had no high office or vast wealth to relinquish when his malicious schemes backfired? Some enemies are just not worth the trouble.
You don’t just need the right enemies, you need them at the right timings. If Goliath had wandered into David’s village to pillage their harvest, David may have still killed him; but the story wouldn’t have gone beyond the front page of “The Bethlehem Gazette ”.
You can’t tell which of your enemy is key to your breakthrough; they themselves don’t know and even the Devil doesn’t (or he would quickly stop them). Only the omniscient, all wise God knows. He’s the One _“who works all things after the counsel of his own will ”_ (Eph 1:11).
That’s why you must lead a prayerful and Spirit led life. When you surrender the leadership and control of your life to Him, He’ll work out an amazing and beautiful story of unplanned blessings and supernatural turnarounds for you: a destiny as inspiring as the inspired histories of the Bible.
AMEN.
More Blessings await you today; you’ll not miss them in Jesus’ Name.
